Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Nis,celebrated the 44th anniversary of its founding. This is another year of successful activity of our collective "towards the improvement of the profession and raising awareness that sport and physical education are the foundations of a healthy society" said the dean, Prof. Dr. Milovan Bratic. He welcomed the Rector of the University of Nis, representatives of local governments-president of Palilula Municipality in Nis, sponsors and media representatives. Prof. Dr. Dragan Antic, Rector of the Nis University with appropriate words addressed the colleagues and wished them even more successful school year.

From year to year there is a growing interest of students to enroll at our faculty said the dean of the faculty prof. Milovan Bratic speaking about the results of the previous year. Habituated are also so called distance learning, as well as expert seminars, increasing attention is given to athletes with disabilities. Our students and top sportsmen and our professors - active sports workers, this year justified the expectations. As members of the academic community, together with other faculties of the University of Nis we create a society based on knowledge and innovation in all segments, which come from the higher education sector. Dean of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education also spoke about working on projects of sports grounds for training students and will be extremely beneficial in teaching and popularization of sports and healthy life. He highlighted the expected support of the City and the Ministry in the implementation of the idea of building a sports hall for the Faculty and the University of Nis.

To the collective of the Faculty and its students, I want to congratulate the successful work especially in education of new generations of students whose sports results confirm this - said Boban Džunić, president of Palilula Municipality. Palilula Municipality in addition to supporting the work of sports clubs, it invests in sports and recreational activities of the population both in urban and rural areas. The promotion of sport and healthy lifestyles is one of the strategic objectives of our development. We've done a number of sport terrains and thanks to the "cross-border cooperation" the sports complex in Pasi Poljana these days is opened and "sports zone" in elementary school "Branko Miljkovic". These programs are implemented in partnership with the municipalities in Bulgaria with the support of IPA funds. From sporting events I want ephasize the second Morava regatta "Viden Jovanovic," safari rally Seličevica 2015. We supported the work of club "Nonius" and organizing state championship in long distance riding and equestrian jumping out of contest CUP "Sv. Petka". There is a significant activity on the design of youth camps - particularly the Scouts in the area of sports and recreation and tourist area of Memorial Park "Bubanj" but also the activities of cleaning and adaptation of the devastated areas near the South Morava river, which is very suitable for development of recreation and sport tourism in this part of Palilula. We are proud that in our community works successfully Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, said the president Džunić.

At this ceremony, which is enriched with music moments in a brilliant performance of male choir "Kir Stefan the Serb", diplomas of the Faculty and sponsor awards to the best students by years of study and the students with the results of the competitions. were awareded too. The best students of the first year of basic academic studies, Marko Trajkovic, Bogdan Milicevic and Bosko Stanojevic best students in the second year are Sara Bozic: average score of 10.00 and Aleksandar Stamenkovic. The best students of the third year of academic study are Dejan Martinovic, Milan Milenkovic and Andreja Miljkovic and of the fourth year of undergraduate study Aleksandar Djordjevic. The best graduate of undergraduate academic study Pavle Pavlovic, who has achieved the score of 9.67 in his marks. The best student of master academic studies is Emilija Stojanovic which achieved an average score of 10:00. in these studies basketball team at the University of Nis found itselfon the podium, at the 13th European University Basketball Championship held in Kopar (team leader Prof. Dr. Miodrag Kocic). Handball team of the University of Nis is led by coach prof. Dr. Sasa Markovic also won a silver medal at the Summer University Olympics held in South Korea. FSFV plaques and cash prizes were also given to the student Milan Kurtić, bronze medalist at the European Championships in karate and Monika Simic, who was at the European Championships for juniors in sambou won second place. The awards were presented by prof. dr Milovan Bratic.
